The Women's Chorus of Dallas
Founded in 1989, The Women’s Chorus of Dallas is recognized as one of the nation’s finest women’s choruses. Each year, TWCD performs 2-3 ticketed concerts and many outreach concerts with a membership of 50+ singers.
The Artistic Director, Melinda Imthurn, joined the chorus in 2004 and has helped the chorus enhance its artistic product and successfully move into the Arts District. The chorus maintains a close musical collaboration with many performing arts groups in Dallas, including the Turtle Creek Chorale, The Dallas Wind Symphony, The Texas Boys Choir, The Dallas Opera, Titas, and others.
TWCD has sung three concerts at Carnegie Hall and at the inaugurations of Governor Ann Richards and Dallas Mayors Ron Kirk, Laura Miller, and Tom Leppert. The chorus also sang a Command performance for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her official state visit to Dallas. The chorus has 10 solo CD recordings.
