Last weekend, RR (represented by Jan and Ric Mancuso) joined 170 audio exhibitors in Denver at the 10th annual Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. Held in the Tech Center Marriott, the RR booth in the Evergreen Ballroom was visited by music lovers young and old, including new customers, longtime supporters, industry friends, RR artists, and journalists.

RR artist, Doug MacLeod, performed twice on Saturday, bringing his original music and storytelling to the Amphitheater, an intimate 70-seat meeting space used for RMAF seminars. Sure it’s tough for a bluesman to perform at 10:45 on a Saturday morning, but Doug and the audience were up for it! He played again in the afternoon, spending time at the RR booth in between, signing copies of There’s A Time and chatting with folks.

The day before, composer and Colorado resident, Charles Denler (Portraits of Colorado), came to see us, bringing with him his friend Lorenz Rychner, editor of Recording, the magazine for the recording musician. Doug was at the booth and we introduced the RR artists to each other. Turns out Doug also knows Lorenz. Small world.

For this 10th edition of RMAF, organizer Marjorie Baumert ‘imported’ her favorite New Orleans singer, Lillian Boutte from her current home in Germany to perform during show. Lillian and niece Tanya Ellsworth had everybody in a party mood during the opening reception and Saturday evening performances of traditional New Orleans jazz mixed with R ‘n B and that special blend of music only that great city delivers. Miss Lillian and Doug met and got on fabulously, exchanging names of mutual friends in the music world here and Europe.

Industry friends stopping by included founder of both Infinity and Genesis speakers, Arnie Nudell, former Air Force band director and music educator, Lowell Graham, Sumiko founder Dave Fletcher, Sandy Gross of GoldenEar Technology, and Ray Kimber from Kimber Kable among the many.

We waved goodbye to Denver Monday morning just as a huge thunderstorm brought hail, thunder and lightning! Fall in the mile high city!
